THE LAST WEEKEND OF MAY
NOC BLUESOWA (THE BLUES NIGHT) in Rawa Mazowiecka is one of few festivals present here for 19 years. The festival’s formula are concerts of national and international blues professionals.
THE AIMS OF THE FESTIVAL
1/ taking part in creating the regional, national and international blues culture,
2/ promotion of Polish groups abroad and foreign groups in Poland,
3/ promotion of the region in Poland and abroad,
4/ dissemination of the blues music knowledge,
5/ integration of the blues environment,
6/ experience exchange between the groups,
7/ making international contacts,
8/ creating an alternative for spending free time for the young people.
TERRITORY RANGE
Noc Bluesowa (The Blues Night) is the festival showing blues performers from many european countries and the USA. The festival fulfills its role of expanding and strenghtening cultural bonds between the nations with the help of blues – a kind of music with universal language, performed all aver the world.
Half of the groups taking part in the festival are the foreign groups. Performers from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Belorus, Germany, Hungary, Italy, France, Ukraine, England and USA appeared on the Ravian stage till now. The other half are Polish groups.
The festival’s audience has had the opportunity to listen to well-known and very famous performers: Sławek Wierzcholski and Nocna Zmiana Bluesa, Tadeusz Nalepa, Dżem, Jan Skrzek „Kyks”, Leszek Cichoński, Carlos Johnson from the USA, Peter Lipa from Slovakia, Family Style from Italy, American-Czech quartet David Murphy Band, Doug Jay & Dynacasters, After Blues with Mira Kubasińska, Erich Boboš Prochaska, Zdrowa Woda, Ireneusz Dudek with Shakin’ Dudi, Ten Years After, Nina van Horn and many, many others.
THE PARTICIPANTS AND THE AUDIENCE
The participants of the NOC BLUESOWA Festival represent the musical environment and they are:
- Polish and foreign blues professionals,
- Polish and foreign blues fans.
The audience of the festival is created by the inhabitants of the town and the region, and – every year more, thanks to the festival’s promotion – blues fans from all over Poland. The open-space style of the festival is an additional attraction for them. Every year about 10 thousand people from Poland come to the Noc Bluesowa Festival (The Blues Night Festival).
